Whale Watching in Cabo San Lucas

For those venturing to Cabo San Lucas during the months of December through March, whale watching season offers an exhilarating window into the wondrous sea life here in Cabo. Cabo visitors can spot multitudinous creatures off Cabo’s pristine shores, including myriad Sperm Whales, Orcas, Blue Whales, and dolphins.

The annual whale watching season typically commences in December and lasts approximately until March. During this exciting time, thousands of Gray whales venture into the region's placid waters, where they nurse, mate, and calve in the Baja’s abundant calving lagoons.

Embarking on a 10,000-12,000 mile journey that traverses the vast Pacific Ocean, these giant whales travel one of the longest migration routes known to any mammal. To witness a 50-foot Gray Whale suspended in midair, his/her 20 ton frame leaping from the waters of the Pacific Ocean is to experience the magical Cabo San Lucas at its finest.

Seasonal whale watching trips are available during the months of December through January, and range from relaxing cruises and private sailing to exciting rafting expeditions.
